After half a decade, JC Penny is bringing back its famous catalog for consumers and will be able to show that most sales were inspired by book, rather than the web.  As you walk through the Cheyenne Mall, you still see shoppers cruising the floors of JC Penny. The store was started by and named after James Cash Penny, who opened his first store in Kemmerer, Wyoming after a $2000 investment in 1902.

Through many decades, JC Penny has been well known for it's catalog, but with the advent of the internet and web advertising, the catalog had seemingly become a thing of the past.

Not anymore. For the first time since 2010, JC Penny will bring back the 120-page catalog to once again be placed in the hands of consumers all over the country. Even though shoppers are buying all sorts of items through the internet, the company has found that consumers still like to browse through their catalogs.

The new catalog is due out in March of 2015.
