80 MPH Winds Possible In SE Wyoming, 10 Inches Of Snow In Mountains
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued High Wind Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for areas of southeast Wyoming.
Wind speeds of up to 80 miles per hour are possible, and higher elevations could get 3-10 inches of snow. That's according to a post on the agency's website:
There is a High Wind Warning through Tuesday evening for much of southeast Wyoming, including Rawlins, Elk Mountain, Arlington, Bordeaux, Wheatland, Douglas and the I-80 Summit and foothills. Expect west winds of 30 to 50 mph with gusts to 80 mph. Use caution if traveling with light weight and high profile vehicles as there is a high risk for blowovers and blowoffs. There is a Winter Weather Advisory for southwest Carbon County and the Sierra Madre Range for snow and blowing snow. Expect snow accumulations of 3 to 10 inches with winds gusting up to 50 mph.
