70 MPH Winds Possible In SE Wyoming Tuesday, High Blow-Over Risk
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for much of southeast Wyoming for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The agency posted this statement on its website on Monday evening:
''High Wind Warnings have been expanded to cover the Laramie Valley, central Laramie County and east Platte County Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. A prolonged strong wind event looking likely, beginning in the wind prone areas (Arlington, Bordeaux, south Laramie Range) Tuesday morning and continuing through mid-morning Wednesday. Wind gusts in excess of 70 mph likely in these areas through the day Tuesday. There is a good likelihood for winds to spill out into lower elevations Tuesday night where wind gusts to 60 mph are possible. Travel on I-80 and I-25 across southeast Wyoming will be impacted Tuesday into Wednesday. Light-weight vehicles, empty semis, those towing camper trailers will be particularly impacted. Expect travel delays as these winds increase. Stay tuned!"
