65 MPH Gusts to Blast Parts of Southeast Wyoming Thursday & Friday

Wind gusts up to 65 mph could make for difficult travel conditions in parts of southeast Wyoming Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne says.

A High Wind Watch is in effect from Thursday morning through Friday evening for the north Snowy Range foothills, including Arlington and Elk Mountain along Interstate 80.

A High Wind Watch is also in effect from Thursday morning through late Thursday night for the central Laramie Range and southwest Platte County, including Interstate 25 between Chugwater and Wheatland, and for the south Laramie Range and foothills, including I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie.

2 PM Tuesday, January 24th: High Wind Watches are in effect for the Arlington/Elk Mountain area, the Interstate-80 Summit and Foothills, and Bordeaux this Thursday and Friday. Sustained winds of 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH are expected. Travellers should also be aware of the possibility for blowing and drifting snow along Interstate-25 and Interstate-80 due to the strong winds and surface snow pack.
