Is there a playground your kids really like in Cheyenne?

One of the city's strong points is having plenty of parks with lots of playground equipment to get some exercise. Here's a look at five fun playgrounds in Cheyenne.

    Brimmer Park Playground

Have you been to this playground just off Pershing Blvd. near the VA Medical Center? It's a nice park for little kid's because it's relatively small and has a good variety of things to play on. There are also several picnic tables around if you want to have lunch.

    Pioneer Park Playground

You might have seen this playground while driving north on I-25, it's near the Randall exit at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base main gate. Access the equipment by taking Cribbon Avenue south to Talbot Court. Just west of the baseball field you'll find a large playground.

The main slide's tall and is a nice thrill. If you have a large party, this is a good place to host it with basketball courts and walking trails nearby.

    Mylar Park Playground

The Mylar Park playground is in north Cheyenne off Seminoe Road. It has a Greenway connection and a wooden bridge leading to it. The playground is small but there is a lot of green space beside it and a pond to watch the ducks.

    Holliday Park Playgrounds

Along East Lincolnway where the Big Boy Steam Locomotive sets, Holliday Park has two nice playgrounds for big groups of kids. These are usually very popular so can get a little crowded at times.

At the Morrie Avenue entrance, next to the Cheyenne Artists Guild, there's a fun playground that even has the little springy horses. There's a lot of room to run and play on all these swings and things to climb on.

On the east side of Holliday Park is a smaller playground which is surrounded by red sandstone bricks from the Castle Dare. This one has lots of slides and tunnels to shimmy through.

    Lions Park Playgrounds

Near the Cheyenne Regional Airport on Eighth Avenue is Lions Park. There is one playground next to old Community House which gets a lot of use during Superday and throughout the summer.

The other playground is on the north side of the park near the Central Avenue entrance. It's a smaller set of equipment but has a very tall slide with a narrow ladder to climb to the top.
