Two 27-year-old South Dakota residents are behind bars following a high-speed chase in Goshen County Friday night, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

Sgt. Jeremy Beck says it all started around 9:40 p.m. when a trooper tried to stop a speeding pickup on U.S. 85 in Hawk Springs and the driver, Levi Robert Anderson, accelerated to speeds of over 100 mph in an attempt to elude the trooper.

"(Anderson) fled north on U.S. 85 towards Torrington," said Beck. "As the trooper pursued the truck, he observed items being tossed out of the vehicle."

Beck says the chase finally came to an end in Torrington after Goshen County Sheriff's deputies and Torrington police used tire deflation devices to stop the pickup, and Anderson and his passenger, Alice Aldean Oldson, were taken into custody without further incident.

"Anderson was booked into the Goshen County Detention Center on charges of driving while under the influence, controlled substance, fleeing/eluding, speed, no proof of insurance, driving without a license, two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, and interference with a peace officer," said Beck.

"Oldson was charged with interference with a peace officer and two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance," Beck added.

Beck says Anderson and Oldson were also booked on outstanding warrants.
