Wyoming Secretary of State Ed Murray is planning a seven-day trip to enhance cultural and economic relations between Wyoming and Taiwan. A total of six Secretaries of State are travelling to Taiwan  April 19-25, 2015. Secretary Murray is the the only representative from a western state who is making the trip.

“I am excited about this opportunity to promote Wyoming, our economic, natural, and cultural resources. We already have a mutually beneficial relationship with Taiwan and I want to build on that relationship in my capacity as Secretary of State,” said Murray.

Secretary Murray joins five other secretaries of state from around the United States on the trip. The delegation will be led by North Carolina Secretary Elaine Marshall, President of the National Association of Secretaries of State; Secretary Mark Martin of Arkansas; Secretary Paul Pate of Iowa; Secretary Mark Hammond of South Carolina; and Secretary John Merrill of Alabama.

During their visit in Taiwan, the delegation will meet with government officials at executive ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Environmental Protection Administration, the Central Election Commission, and the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange.

Secretary Murray noted there is no cost to the State of Wyoming for his participation in the trip, which is funded by the Taiwanese government.
