It might not make much of a difference in the long run, but Brittany Criss probably should have asked a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper to return her license before leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Platte County on Thursday.

About 12:51 p.m., a trooper saw a southbound 2017 Hyundai Accent passenger car whiz by at 103 mph in a posted 80 mph zone near Glendo, according to a news release.

The trooper stopped the vehicle, and driver Criss gave the trooper her driver’s license.

She then took off and lead the trooper on a pursuit during which speeds exceeded 100 mph.

A trooper ahead of the pursuit successfully deployed a tire deflation device at milepost 57, or 47 miles south from where the chase started.

The vehicle pulled over and the three individuals inside were taken into custody without incident.

Criss, 27, is a resident of Elbert, Colo.

The passengers were arrested, too. They are Johnny Rineheart, 38, from Denver, and Amy Dwyer, 38, from Aurora, Colo.

They are facing several criminal charges, and were booked into the Platte County Detention Facility.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
