5 Reasons Cheyenne Residents Should Call ‘One-Call Wyoming’ Before Digging
It's getting to be that time of year when people may begin digging in their yards. Whether a garden or a whole for new construction, we should call before we dig and here's why.Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight why 'One-Call Wyoming' wants us to call them before we start any digging projects on our property. Here are good reasons to call them before any project.
- Fence Posts - Even if you are digging fence posts in your yard, you should call them before doing so. You never know if there is a power line too close to the surface.
- State Law - Wyoming state law requires that you call 'One-Call' before digging to locate any utilities that may run across your property.
- It's Free - It won't cost you anything to have 'One-Call' come out and check your area before digging.
- Avoid Electrocution - People die all the time because they hit a hot electric line while digging. They should have checked it out first.
- Property & Utility Damage - You could damage your property or puncture a water line, telephone line or natural gas line.
The Wyoming 'One-Call' phone number is 1-800-849-2476 or call 8-1-1 which reminds us, "Always know what's down there, before you dig."
