The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise funds and awareness for the disease, and now in the top 6 causes of death in America.  On Saturday, September 19th in Holiday Park, there was a sea of purple and white shirts and men, women, children and dogs lined up to take a walk around the lake.

Janet Lewis, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association in Wyoming was very pleased with the turn out of both funds and participation. When ever they would reach a financial benchmark, the registration workers would ring the purple bell.

Over $40,000 worth of donations came in Saturday and about 250 to 300 people participated in the event. Last years event yielded about 50 participants.

Dr. Margo Karsten, CEO of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center gave a speech and led the walk around the park along with former Secretary of State for Wyoming Max Maxfield.

A special thanks to all the people and organizations that helped make this years event a huge success.

Other events in the Cowboy State will be in Marbleton and Rock Springs Wyoming on November 7, 2015.
