Visiting Artist Reception and Public Programs at the UW Art Museum

An installation view of the exhibition, “Judy Pfaff: Come What May,” at the UW Art Museum.

The University of Wyoming Art Museum is more and more becoming a hot place to check out! University of Wyoming Eminent Artist in Residence Judy Pfaff will present a public art talk Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. and an informal gallery walk-through Tuesday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the UW Art Museum.

An opening reception for Pfaff’s solo exhibition, “Judy Pfaff: Come What May,” begins at 6 p.m., April 15, at the museum. All events are free and open to the public.

“Come What May” presents two-dimensional collages and three-dimensional assemblages that incorporate such materials as plastics, cardboard, and often times, lighting elements, into organic works. The exhibition is on view at the UW Art Museum through Saturday, May 4.

Pfaff is an internationally renowned artist who is recognized as a pioneer in installation art. She teaches classes in UW’s Visual Arts Department this semester, and is a professor and department chair at New York’s Bard College.

“Imagine learning from the masters” is a guiding principle of the UW Art Museum’s programs. Located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie, the museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday hours are extended to 9 p.m. February through April and September through November. Admission is free.
