Visit Cheyenne CEO Darren Rudloff says all signs point to a strong summer tourist season in Laramie County in 2013.

Darren Rudloff notes gas prices are down compared to last year. He also says the moisture the area has received in recent weeks has dampened concerns about fires in the area and the negative news coverage they generate.

Rudloff says lodging occupancy rates for April were strong in the county, as are advance bookings for this summer. And Rudloff says both hotel bookings and advance ticket sales for Cheyenne Frontier Days are looking strong as well. All in all Rudloff says he doesn't see any reason not to expect a "banner tourist season" this year.
