After some snow fell on Cheyenne earlier this week, rain may be the word of the day on Wednesday. The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne says that a system could bring thunderstorms to the area is set for an afternoon appearance.

Light rain showers, with snow above 7000 feet, will end early this morning leaving mostly cloudy skies through the day. A weak low pressure system will move into the eastern Colorado plains this afternoon, resulting in a good chance of thunderstorms. Some of these thunderstorms may contain heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail into this evening. Warmer temperatures are expected Thursday and Friday late this week. -NWS
