Forest Service Won’t Merge Two Forests [AUDIO]

The U.S. Forest Service has recommended against merging management of the Bridger Teton National Forest in Wyoming with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Idaho. Doug Randall has the story. Combining Forests in Wyoming and Idaho A Concern [AUDIO]

Many Wyoming officials say they are concerned about the prospect of combining management of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in northwestern Wyoming with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in southeastern Idaho. About 200 wild horses are now living at the Bureau of Land Management's first ecosanctuary. Joy Greenwald reports.

Fire Danger In Teton County “Very High”

Teton Interagency Fire managers have elevated the fire danger to Very High for both the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park as of Tuesday, July 3. Recent hot temperatures, low humidity and windy conditions have increased the potential for intense fire activity. Local residents and visitors alike should exercise an extra measure of caution and practice heightened fire safety at all times.
