The President of Visit Cheyenne says the combination of new hotels locating in the city as well as the number of existing lodging facilities undertaking renovations bodes well for the local travel industry.

Darren Rudloff says in addition to at least three new hotels under construction on Cheyenne at last report, four other existing hotels are either in the process of renovating or are planning to do so in the near future. That includes on-going renovations to the Fairfield Inn and the Holiday Inn Express. Rudloff says the Plains Hotel and the Hampton Inn  have major renovations projects in the planning stages.

The Hilton Hotel chain, meanwhile, is also making plans to locate at 17th and Pioneer, although that is a long-term project.

Rudloff says the plans represent a "vote of confidence for our local economy". He goes on to say the hotels wouldn't be investing in the community of they didn't see a bright future for the local hospitality industry.
