Twenty-two year old Seth Ockinga pleaded guilty to one felony count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor, and has now been sentenced.

After listening to a psychologist hired by the defense, and the impassioned testimony of Ockinga’s father, Judge Catherine Wilking felt the crime was serious enough to sentence him to not less than 8 and not more than 15 years in prison.

He was also given a boot camp recommendation, which means if he completes the program, the court could call him back for a sentence review.

He will also have to register as a sexual offender.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say according to witnesses and victims, between December and March, Ockinga hosted a number of parties, and was providing alcohol to minors at the parties.

At least one victim admitted to having sexual relations with Ockinga and agreed with police, to do a recorded phone conversation with him.

During the conversation, Ockinga asked if the victim got rid of various sexual photos...and that if anyone talked about Ockinga and the victim having sex, he was going to deny it.

As part of a plea deal, Natrona County prosecutors dropped four other charges, and the Laramie County prosecutor agreed not to press charges in a similar case.

However, there was no agreed upon prison term, which means Ockinga could have gotten the maximum of 20 years in prison.
