The Federated Firefighters of Wyoming has kicked of a phone campaign for support of their organization.

The Federated Firefighters of Wyoming is a collective group of the IAFF (International Association of Firefighters) local unions (Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Mills)

However, scammers have followed suit. The agency calling on firefighters behalf has offered details on how to identify and conduct the phone call. The Cheyenne Firefighters are reminding everyone to always be aware of the personal information given out, in any form.

Here are some quick tips to validate this phone campaign on behalf of the Federated Firefighters of Wyoming:

The caller will identify with “United Partners Outreach, on behalf of the Federated Firefighters of Wyoming.” USE CAUTION: a scammer has stated “Wyoming Federation;” sounds similar but is not!

  • SHOULD NOT state a local fire department or union.
  • A thorough explanation of the phone call and sought support will be offered.
  • NO MONETARY COLLECTION OR COMMITMENT via phone call. This group will explain the campaign, and ask for permission to send donation forms via mail. There is no commitment while taking the call.
  • Phone numbers may vary when viewed in the ‘caller ID.’ The United Partners Outreach is a nationwide group.
