Laramie County Fire District 2 responded to a fire at 1515 Crestview Drive at approximately 1:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012. They believe the fire was caused by a lightning strike.

According to a news release upon arrival , firefighters found flames coming from the roof in the southeast corner of the structure. No one was home.
Additional crews from Fire Districts 1 and 2, the Wyoming Air National Guard Fire Department and FE Warren Air Force Base Fire Department were immediately dispatched. AMR was also on scene to provide rehabilitation and support.
The fire damaged approximately 15% of the home which firefighters were able to contain to the upper bedroom and bathroom; however, the property sustained extensive smoke damage. The lower levels also received water damage from the firefighter’s suppression efforts. Crews were released from the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.
