Free Cheyenne Audubon Lecture at Laramie County Library April 15

Have you ever wondered what types of birds and wildlife they have in Australia?

A member of the Cheyenne High Plains Audubon Society recently visited the continent down-under and will share her experiences at a free lecture Tuesday, April 15, in the Sunflower Room of the Laramie County Library starting at 7 p.m.

High Plains Audubon Society Chapter member Robin Kepple visited Lamington National Park, located in the lush rainforest near Brisbane, which is home to the satin bower bird, the paradise rifle bird as well as large colonies of flying fox, koalas and wallabies.

She also visited the Currawinya National Park, in Australia's arid outback. It's extensive lakes and wetlands are home to emus, Major Mitchell cockatoos, carpet pythons, goannas and red kangaroos.

Kepple's lecture is free and open to the public.
