Having 50 thousand emails to open can be bad enough, but doesn't it bother you when they have ugly and annoying people with bad email habits? I certainly think so.   If you have email, then you've seen them all to often before. Bad email habits that people do to get on your nerves. Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight some of the most annoying and irritating email behaviors and habits from "well meaning" people.

  1. Blind And Carbon Copying - When your boss sends you an email, but CC's or BC's a higher up to make them look good and make you look not-so-good. People of this caliber seem to be sneaky and sometimes, a hint of low self-esteem.
  2. Immediate Follow-Up - Some people won't even give you a chance to respond before they send you another email stating, "Did you get my email?"
  3. The Hasty Group "Leader" - This is the guy that tries to answer a group question on behalf of the group, without checking it out with the group first. Sort of like in school, when you had that one kid that would blurt out the answer without raising his hand.
  4. The Shouter - Why do they need to hit you with all caps, as if we can't read lower case letters. This also falls into the same category as people putting too many exclamation points and questions marks at the end of their posts.
  5. Too Many Priority Flags - This is like crying wolf. Those people that always use a priority flag fall into  the problem that when there really is a priority email, people will put it on the bottom of the list because too many times, it wasn't really a priority.
