A police pursuit in south central Cheyenne late Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of three fugitives.

According to arrest records, it all started around 11:30 p.m. after an officer tried to stop a car near the intersection of Thomes Avenue and West 5th Street, and the driver, 30-year-old Cheyenne resident Jeremy Donell Woods, failed to pull over, initiating a pursuit.

The car chase reportedly ended eight minutes later, when Woods crashed into a retention pond east of West 3rd Street and Snyder Avenue.

Police say Woods and his male passenger, 22-year-old Cheyenne transient Richard Conner Kwedor, took off on foot, but Woods' female passenger, 29-year-old Cheyenne transient Mellisa Ann Henderson, surrendered.

Police say Henderson had a felony warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of forgery, which was signed by Laramie County District Court Judge Steven Sharpe on Jan. 22, 2024.

Woods and Kwedor, who both had misdemeanor warrants out of Laramie County Circuit Court for failure to pay, were located and arrested a short time later.

All three were booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on their warrants.

Kwedor, who was found hiding in the backyard at 339 Maddies Way, was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of interference.

Meet the Four-Legged Heroes of the Cheyenne Police Department

They may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but make no bones about it, police dogs play a vital role in the fight against crime.

In many situations, they're the first ones to put their lives on the line to protect their human partners, proving that not all heroes wear capes, some wear fur coats.
