Cheyenne Man Accused of Stabbing His Nephew
A 63-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly stabbing his nephew.
According to a booking sheet, deputies with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office were called to Mark Everett Gonzales' home at 1023 Ave. C on Friday, April 12 for an assault with a knife.
Deputies say they arrived to find a male with a stab wound, and learned that Gonzales had stabbed his nephew after getting into an altercation with him.
Gonzales was reportedly taken into custody at 6:33 p.m. after deputies located him in the garage of a nearby home in the 1000 block of Christine Circle.
Deputies say a large knife was located in a sheath on Gonzales' belt.
Bond Set at $50K Cash for Cheyenne Man Charged With Aggravated Assault
Gonzales was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
He made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday morning, during which his bond was set at $50,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 24 at 3:30 p.m.
