1:06 P.M. UPDATE:

A Cheyenne man was arrested Tuesday morning after crashing his truck near Frontier Mall, police say.

Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Powderhouse Road around 9:30 a.m.

"According to statements, the incident began when a blue Ford truck, driven by an adult male suspect, was traveling recklessly south of town," said Farkas.

"The driver continued north at a high rate of speed and ran a red light at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Powderhouse Road, resulting in a collision with a city transit bus," Farkas added. "The truck then rolled and collided with a black Lincoln SUV near Frontier Mall."

Farkas says the suspect attempted to flee on foot, but a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper listening to radio traffic observed him running and arrested him without further incident.

Farkas says the suspect was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, and his name will be released once he's cleared and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.

She says others involved in the crash did not report serious injuries.
