The Cheyenne Police Department would like to remind residents once again that the use, sale or possession of fireworks is prohibited within the city limits. Every year the police department is inundated with calls about fireworks being set off in the city. Fireworks include any article, device or substance prepared for the primary purpose of producing a visual or auditory sensation by combustion, explosion, deflagration or detonation. Common types of fireworks include, but are not limited to, toy cannons or toy canes in which explosives are used, blank cartridges, firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, roman candles, and other devices of like construction. Lt. Mark Munari says not only are fireworks illegal in Cheyenne Not only are fireworks illegal within city limits but they can be a safety issue and a fire danger,The fine for the use, sale or possession of fireworks within the city is $200.
