It seems that August just might be the big month of the year to give birth to your offspring. We seem to pay big to have kids, but where does Wyoming rank in having them?

Our friends at WalletHub.com took the time to check this out for us. The took 17 key metrics to measure health and delivery costs, friendliness and accessibility.

The study ranges from pediatricians per capita, to C-Section births to annual costs for having a child. Their research produced some interesting results.

Using this formula, here are a list of the top 5 states that are best to have children.

  1. Vermont (Having the highest number of child-care centers per 100,000 residents).
  2. Maine
  3. Connecticutt
  4. Minnesota
  5. New Hapshire

Now that we see New England seems to dominate the best places to bare a child, they also looked at the worst places in America to have kids. It may be of no surprise.

  1. Mississippi (The absolute WORST place to bare children)
  2. Louisiana
  3. Alabama
  4. New York
  5. Georgia

Thankfully, Wyoming is in the clear either way. However, according to WalletHubs discoveries, we placed 40th in the country. We did rank in the top 5 for lowest hospital conventional-delivery charges.

For the record, our neighbors to the east, Nebraska, ranked 13th and our neighbors to the south, Colorado, ranked 30th in the nation.
