Committee Votes For Garbage Fee Vote Delay

The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee on Monday voted for a two week delay in voting on a proposed 3.4 percent increase in garbage collection fees.

The decision to back a delay came after City Public Works Director Jim Elias told the committee his department would like more time to discuss a study of city sanitation operations conducted by a consultant.

Elias said after the meeting it's unlikely the department will ask for any changes in the proposed increase, but said he wanted more time to study the report get certain questions answered.
