Cheyenne Council Committee Reschedules Meeting Due To Eclipse

The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee meeting which was scheduled for August 21 at 11 a.m. has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 23.

A spokeswoman for the city council says there would not have been a quorum at Monday's meeting because some council members would have been absent for the eclipse.

Since that would have made it necessary to reschedule anyway, the decision was made to simply move the meeting to Wednesday at 11 a.m. The decision to reschedule the Finance Committee meeting is at least the second local eclipse-related rescheduling.

Laramie County School District #2 recently announced the first day of school in the district will be on Tuesday, Aug. 22 rather than on Monday, as had been originally planned.
