Cheyenne Summer Watering Schedule Ends
Cheyenne water users can now water their lawns at any time.
The summer watering schedule that banned people from watering came to an end today (Sept.1).
Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities [BOPU] spokeswoman Dena Egenhoff says the "no watering between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.'' rule is lifted in September because the sun sets earlier in the fall.
That leaves less daylight in the evenings for people who set hoses and sprinklers to water their yards. But even though the restriction on watering during certain hours has been lifted, some other restrictions remain in place year-round.
For example, washing hard surfaces such as sidewalks, parking lots or driveways with a hose is prohibited except for safety, health or construction reasons. And customers who wash vehicles must use an automatic shut nozzle on hoses and/or buckets.
Wasting water by allowing it to run down the street is prohibited throughout the year.
