The Cheyenne Police Department Graffiti Abatement Team will be hitting the streets full force with the warmer weather.

The Police Department is  sponsoring a special anti-graffiti logo art contest in Cheyenne Junior and Senior high schools this spring. Spokesman Sgt Rob Dafoe says students are asked to design a “logo” that sends a message of zero tolerance for graffiti in our community.

One of two winning logos will be placed on t-shirts, banners, websites and other highly visible locations.

The contest begins on Monday, April 16th and will run through Friday, April 27th. A special local panel of judges and the public will each select a winner. On-line voting will be available May 8th through May 14th, by program sponsor Verizon wireless at verizoninsider.com/graffiti. Two winners will each receive donated prizes to include $250 cash, gift cards and more.
