Cheyenne Police have issued an accident alert due to slick conditions and many accidents on city streets.

The CPD posted the following on its Facebook page this morning [March 8]:

Accident Alert is in effect
Due to a high number of vehicle accidents related to hazardous road conditions, we are currently on accident alert.
This means if you're involved in a non-injury, non-alcohol/drug related crash, please exchange information and report online: cheyennepd.org/report-accident

Snow Should Taper Off Later

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says the winter storm which has dumped snow on the area should gradually taper off today:

Snow showers will continue through the morning, with an additional dusting to 2 inches or so possible. Expect snow to end this morning or early afternoon from north to south. 🌤️ Skies will clear from north to south behind the snow, but remaining mostly cloudy for the I-80 corridor. 🌘 Clear skies expected tonight with colder temperatures into Saturday morning!
