University of Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman has terminated Heath Schroyer's contract as head men's basketball coach, effective immediately. Fred Landley, currently an assistant coach, has been named as interim head coach for the duration of the 2010-2011 season.

Wyoming started 8-15 overall and 1-8 in Mountain West play this season and has struggled during Schroyer's tenure. During his four years as head coach, Laramie has accumulated 49 victories to 68 losses (.419) and an even weaker conference record, 16-41 (.281).

Schroyer's contract was set to expire at the end of the 2013-2014 season. The University of Wyoming will pay him $160,000 per year through the remaining three years of his contract, according to Burman.
