4. Capitol City Stadium 12

3410 Concord Rd.  (map) 638-7469

It seems whenever you go to a movie in the winter the theatre is too cold, but in the summer it is the perfect place to go cool down! It is always refreshing to walk out of the heat and into a nice, cool, dark place and Capitol City Stadium is the place to do that. They set the thermostat at 72° F, which is certainly going to be better than a hot summer afternoon. While you are there, you can catch some flicks.  Some movies you might want to check out are: Super 8, Bridesmaids, Cars 2, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, or Cowboys and Aliens.  Get a refreshing drink, sit back and enjoy the movie, and appreciate being in a dark 72° F instead of baking in the scorching sun!

5. Fall Hall

FE Warrent Air Force Base (map)

Beat the heat, get off the street!  Go to Fall Hall @ FE Warren Air Force Base!  Fall Hall has it all with a rock climbing room, dance studio, batting cage, laser tag, ping pong, billiards, foosball, and gaming consoles complete with game seating and 55″ LCD screens for X-box 360, Wii, Playstation3, and PC.  There’s no room for boredom here, and plenty of room to burn off energy while staying cool!  Free Wi-fi is on site.  Send the fast and furious off to play, while the calm and quiet seek sanctuary at the Extreme Beans coffee shop.   Several computers are provided there to surf or study.  Enjoy a frosty frappuccino while your there, too.   Military ID is required, so join up!  Naw – just jokin!  But, if you aren’t military,  find a military friend to sponsor you on base.  They are really friendly folks!  Remember, retired military can sponsor as well!
