Roll out the red carpet, because here they come. It was a great night at the Atlas Theatre over the weekend for the Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival presented by Mystic Key Productions. Our local, young talent had the opportunity to really shine as we were shown the top 4 films from film-makers in Cheyenne.

Jeff Miller, founder of Mystic Key Productions, put on the event and the turn out was wonderful. In the lobby of the Atlas Theatre, there awaited chips, roll ups, salsa and soft drinks and a red carpet too.

The kids' films were based on different categories: Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Actor and Best Actress. Awards were given with trophies along with cash prizes. The top film, This is Love, took home $300.00 to boot. Mr. Miller is hoping to invite all the youth of the state of Wyoming for a big event next year.

Here are the categories and winners of the 2014 Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival:

Best Cinematography: This Is Love by Emily Platt

Best Art Direction: Till We Meet Again by Marces Wood Productions

Best Actor: Keefe VanDyke in Short Film Idea

Best Actress: Rebecca Chiapetto in Unusual Date

Congratulations to one and all for this years top four. They were all very good and we're looking forward to all of the great talent next year.
