Memorial Day is a precious day of remembering the fallen heroes from our country's past and present. The day has been attributed to free slaves in Charleston who, in 1865, reburied dead Union prisoners of war, thus creating what we know today as this holiday.

The staff at AM 650 KGAB are proud to announce that we will be honoring Wyoming Fallen heroes' throughout the weekend programming. From the Korean War through Afghanistan, we will pay tribute to the Equality State's fighting men who lost their lives for their freedom.

What are you doing this weekend?

Consider attending the Memorial Day Ceremonies at noon in Beth El Cemetery. This wreath-laying ceremony is open to the public and conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1881 and American Legion Post 6. The event is located on the corner of Pershing Blvd and Seymour Ave in the Capitol City.

We hope that you will join us in remembering the men and women that gave their lives, so that you, me and others throughout the world may remain free.

Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.
