It's pretty neat when a state produces a famous person, or a famous person who resides in the Cowboy State. Here are some name brands who've called Wyoming home.   Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight some famous names who have lived in or are from Wyoming. We can't name them all, but here are a few.

  1. Larry Wilcox - Actor from Rawlins, Wyoming. He was best known as his character role Jon Baker on the T.V. hit series C.H.I.P.S., opposite of Eric Estrada. He graduated from Rawlins High School in 1967 and then worked as an actor and a rodeo cowboy.  Wilcox joined the Marine Corps, which sent him to Vietnam for 13 months.
  2. Jim Beaver - Actor from Laramie, Wyoming. He played the gruff, but loveable, Whitney Ellsworth in HBO's Deadwood series. He is also the author of his memoir, "Life's That Way", published in 2009.
  3. Dana Perino - The 27th White House Press Secretary from Evanston, Wyoming. She is now a political commentator for Fox News, and co-host of The Five.
  4. Ashlynn Yennie - Actress from Riverton, Wyoming who played in both movies of The Human Centipede. She was also cast in "The Ghost and the Whale", starring Tippi Hedren.
  5. Neil Diamond - Singer, who lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for four years, while his father served in the U.S. Army. He went to school at the old Churchill Elementary School on W. 29th Street in Cheyenne.
