Abuse comes in many different packages and the sad thing is that those who may be in such a relationship may not even know they are in one.   Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight 5 things that indicate that you or someone you know may be in a very bad abusive relationship. Here are some of the signs.

  1. Control - If you're in an abusive relationship, you'll find that your partner wants to control everything about you. Friends, family, activity and your whereabouts.
  2. Dog Or Doll? - Many in abusive relationships find that their partner treats them more like the family dog rather than someone they love. Actually, in some cases, the family dog gets treated better than you do.
  3. It's Always Your Fault - No matter the situation or circumstance, you are always the one at fault. You are required to always look at yourself as the problem, but there is never a solution because, in an abusive relationship, there never is a solution. You are trapped if this is you.
  4. You Deserve It - You're feeling of worthlessness makes you think that you really have it coming and therefore, you deserve the way you are treated. This is because if you were a better person, then your significant other wouldn't be mad at you all the time. Or so you think.
  5. You're An Excuse Maker - You have been so abused, that now you make constant excuses for why your partner behaves the way that they do. You are on the brunt end of everything negative in your relationship and just may have gotten used to that.

If you are a victim of any of these above, please seek professional help. Your life is precious and you are well work a good, healthy and thriving relationship with someone who loves you.
