The U.S. Department of Education Wednesday announced the approval of Wyoming's plan to ensure equitable access to excellent educators.

In July 2014, the U.S. Department of Education announced a comprehensive Excellent Educators for All Initiative.

As part of the initiative, states were asked to create new, comprehensive plans that put in place locally-developed solutions to ensure every student has equal access to effective educators.

"Every Wyoming student deserves a great education and that starts in the classroom with excellent educators," said Wyoming Department of Education Superintendent Jillian Balow. "Throughout this extensive process we've worked with numerous education stakeholders across the state in identifying challenges, but also recognized that Wyoming does a good job of providing all of our students with highly qualified teachers. We look forward to continuing the work as we put the state plan into motion."
