Wyoming Woman Hit and Killed After Running in Front of SUV
A 39-year-old St. Stephens woman is dead after running in front of an SUV.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Kyle McKay says the accident occurred 23 miles southwest of Riverton on 17 Mile Road around 10:50 p.m. Friday.
McKay says a Ford Explorer was traveling west at about 55 mph when Rani Ridgley ran out in front of it waving her arms over her head.
The driver tried to swerve to miss Ridgley, but ended up striking and killing her. McKay says the six people in the Explorer were uninjured.
This is the 44th fatality on Wyoming's highways this year compared to 68 at this time last year.
