A Gillette woman felt the agony of defeat on Monday after she drove over her own foot while attempting to corral her dog.

The woman was reportedly driving to work when she noticed her dog chasing the car. When she exited the vehicle and tried to coax the dog, she forgot to put the car in the park and it rolled over her foot.

When the Campbell County Fire Department arrived several minutes later, they thought they were responding to a potentially life threating situation with a person trapped under a car. Instead, they arrived to find the woman's foot was trapped under the tire, according to County 17.

Firefighters were able to free the woman's foot and she was transported to a local hospital for observation. The extent of her injuries and the whereabouts of the dog are unknown. The woman was not cited in the accident.
