Wyoming Treasurer Denies Threatening State HR Employees
Wyoming's treasurer is denying that he made threats toward members of a state human resources division last month.
"Let me be clear: I unequivocally deny that I made any threat," Meier said in a statement released to news media Tuesday morning.
"My conversations with Human Resources have always been professional and, in fact, I have never even visited HR since my election," Meier added.
According to the statement, Meier was notified by the Wyoming Highway Patrol than an incident/investigation report was filed March 21, but that no violation was identified and the investigation has been closed.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol did not immediately return a call from K2 Radio News seeking to verify Meier's claim regarding the investigation.
The state office referenced by Meier is the Human Resource Division of the Wyoming Department of Administration and Information. That office likewise did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
