Wyoming Senate Puts Student Data Privacy Bill On Hold
The Wyoming Senate has postponed indefinitely the latest student data privacy bill to come before state lawmakers.
Senate File 20 would have banned school districts in the state from forcing students to give them access to their social media and email accounts. Similar proposals have been put forward in recent Wyoming legislative sessions.. The proposal would have allowed students to voluntarily provide the information.
The Senate Education Committee voted 4-1 to send the bill to the full Senate, where it was put on hold.
