Illegal drug use and addiction is a problem all over America, but Wyoming, even with our small population, landed on the top of the list for states with the most drug arrests per capita.

A new study conducted by WalletHub listed "Drug Use By State: 2019's Problem Areas". According to the study, to determine which states have the biggest drug problems, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia in three overall categories:

  1. Drug Use & Addiction
  2. Law Enforcement
  3. Drug Health Issues & Rehab

While Wyoming landed around the middle (#31) for "Drug Health Issues & Rehab", we were in a three way tie with South Carolina and South Dakota for the number one spot for "States With The Most Drug Arrests Per Capita".

It's also worth noting that the Cowboy State came in second for "Law Enforcement" and we ranked 48th for "Lowest Percentage of Adults With Unmet Drug Treatment Needs"
