Wyoming High School State Track Championships: May 20-22, 2021
For the first time in two years, state champions will be crowned in Wyoming High School track and field at the state championships in Casper.
Girls and boys teams from around the state will compete across all four classifications Thursday through Saturday at Harry Geldien Stadium located at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper.
The defending team champions from 2019, since 2020 was canceled due to the virus, are Cokeville, Pine Bluffs, Douglas, and Cheyenne Central girls, and the Upton, Big Horn, Mountain View, and Kelly Walsh boys.

In Class 1A: Kylee Dayton (Cokeville), High Jump; Tana Teichert (Cokeville), Triple Jump; Lizzi James (Encampment), Discus; Kaden Dower (Western Heritage Lutheran Academy), 100 & 200 meters; Brayden Bruce (Upton), Pole Vault.
In Class 2A: Larissa McElroy (Wyoming Indian), 3200 meters; Jordan Stoddard (Southeast), High Jump [Southeast now competes in 1A]; Carleigh Reish (Tongue River), Long Jump; Kenley Plowman (Kemmerer), Triple Jump [Kemmerer is now in 3A]; Carson Bates (Big Horn), 100 & 200 meters; Zach Simmons (Rocky Mountain), 3200 meters.
In Class 3A: Kamdynn Townsend (Douglas), 400 meters & Long Jump; Isabella Romasko (Pinedale), Triple Jump; Allyson Fertig (Douglas), Shot Put; Sam Kistemann (Lander), 1600 meters; Kaleb Simonson (Lander), 3200 meters; Connor Micheli (Mountain View), Pole Vault; Joseph Turner (Lyman), Discus; Sydney Thorvaldson (Rawlins), 800, 1600 & 3200 meters [will not compete due to injury].
In Class 4A: Grace Shaffer (Cody), Pole Vault; Peter Visser (Star Valley), 3200 meters; Ryan Karajanis (Sheridan), Pole Vault.
The state track championships begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday. They will finish at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday’s action starts at 9 a.m. Friday will be done around 6 p.m., while Saturday will wrap up about 4:30 p.m.
The meet will run on a timed schedule.
