Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon on Tuesday vetoed a Second Amendment bill, calling it overkill that potentially could vilify Wyoming law enforcement.

You can read Senate File 196, The Second Amendment Protection Act Amendments Bill here.

The bill would have allowed Wyoming residents to sue law enforcement for enforcing federal gun laws that contradict Wyoming law.

On his Facebook page, the governor posted the following comments on the bill ''In Wyoming, we back the Blue and we support Second Amendment rights. We shouldn’t need to pass boilerplate bills pushed by out-of-state lobbyists simply to fill out a legislative scorecard. I commit to bringing our law-enforcement community together to thoughtfully craft a Wyoming solution that protects our Second Amendment rights from potential federal overreach.''

The Governor was joined by members of law enforcement.at a Tuesday ceremony announcing his veto.

Wyoming Freedom Caucus ''Embarrassed'' By ''Veto Party"

Needless to say, not everyone was happy with the governor's veto. The Wyoming Freedom Caucus posted the following on it's Facebook page ''We are embarrassed by Governor Gordon's so-called "veto party." Wyoming will remember that he threw a celebration to commemorate vetoing the Second Amendment Protection Act.''

Wyoming Gun Owners posted a statement on Facebook saying they had been "stabbed in the back (again) by Governor Gordon.''

While the legislature could override the governor's veto of this and several other bills from this session, doing so would require the legislature to come back into session to hold override votes. Two thirds of both the Wyoming House and Senate would have to vote in favor of overriding a gubernatorial veto.
