If you are out and about on public lands west of the Continental Divide, and you find a nice wall piece of an antler or horn, be sure not to pick it up and take it home.   The Wyoming Game & Fish Department is reminding us that it is against the law to pick up shed antlers and horns from wildlife west of the Continental Divide.

The regulation states, in part, that between January 1 through April 30 of any given year, gathering antlers and horns from wild game is prohibited. This regulation was approved by the Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners in 2012.

According to Baggs Game Warden Kim Olson, shed antlers and horn hunting is closed for areas near Baggs, to include most all lands north of the area. Other closed areas to this activity includes, but is not limited to, Wild Horse, Cow Butte and Sandhills.

As an added help, the blue areas on most state maps show you what state lands are.
