
WYDOT Warns Of Extreme Blowover Risk, Restrictions In Effect
The Wyoming Department of Transportation has issued ''Extreme Blowover Risk" warnings for interstates 80 and 25 in southeast Wyoming.
Long stretches of both highways are also closed to light, high profile vehicles under 40000 GVW due to gusting winds.
That's according to the agency's 'Road And Travel" conditions website.
On Interstate 25 at last report, those restrictions were in place from the Colorado State Line to Glendo. On I-80 they were in effect between Cheyenne and Rock Springs.
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for areas of southeast Wyoming
"A High Wind Warning has been issued for portions of southeast Wyoming through the day Thursday. Wind gusts up to 65 mph are possible. Eastern Laramie County remains under a Watch. Use caution if traveling with lightweight or high profile vehicles, including campers."
