Wildfire Near Lander Prompts Evacuations

A growing wildfire southwest of Lander has forced emergency responders to evacuate Sinks Canyon. County 10 News reports Forest Service personnel were clearing campgrounds and asking people to leave the area Monday afternoon. The report indicated that Homestead Park is also being evacuated.

County 10 reports winds were pushing the fire south into the canyon, and air tankers have been called in to help suppress the blaze.
