Wyoming's Primary Election is slated for Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 p.m. Here is what you need to know about how to vote.

Where Do I Vote?

Unlike many other locations across Wyoming, Laramie County does not mandate specifically where local voters cast their ballots. You can choose from any of the following vote centers.

Identification

Wyoming law requires voters to present some form of identification. The following documents may be used:

  • Wyoming Driver’s License or Wyoming Identification Card
  • Tribal ID Card
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • U.S. Military Card
  • DL or ID Card from Another State
  • University of Wyoming Student ID
  • Wyoming Community College Student ID
  • Wyoming Public School Student ID
  • Valid Medicare Insurance Card
  • Valid Medicaid Insurance Card
  • Valid Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permit

If you do not have one of the documents listed above, you may obtain a free Wyoming Identification Card from WYDOT Driver Services, located at 1520 Etchepare Circle, 307-777-3835.

Registering To Vote

You can register at the polls on election day. However, if you are already registered as a Republican or Democrat, you cannot change your party affiliation at the polls for the primary election. You can change your party affiliation for the Nov. 5 General Election up until Oct. 21, 2024.

What Offices Are On The Ballot?

You can see a list of local and legislative offices on the Laramie County Election ballot here. Which legislative races you are eligible to vote in depends on where you live. You must be a Cheyenne resident to vote in the Cheyenne mayoral and city council elections. Local residents can also cast ballots in the statewide primary elections for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator John Barrasso, as well as Wyoming's lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
