Anthony Lincoln, 25, of Ethete, a member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal on Monday to 9 years in prison. Lincoln pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in for his role in the August 5th, 2011 death of  John Michael Crispin III. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, although statements made by co-defendant,  Ronald York, 23, also a member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe,  during the investigation of this matter, that the crime was motivated by homosexual activity involving the victim, York told the court at his sentencing that the allegation was not true. York was sentenced to 5 years in prison for his role in the crime after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
