Top 5 At 7:45 – Ways To Protect Yourself From The Sun
With the sun being hot and bright these days and people getting out in it, it's probably a good time to start thinking about how to protect ourselves from sun damage to our bodies.
Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight my top 5 ways to protect yourself from the sun. The Top 5 at 7:45 airs weekdays with me, Gary Freeman, on KGAB Mornings.
- Talk to your dermatologist and have a full body scan done once a year.
- Generously apply sunscreen to you, your kids and family with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15 as you don't want to go any lower. Also, ensure that it is resistant to water.
- Wear hats, glasses and pack an umbrella.
- Avoid tanning beds. These will make a 30 year old look 60.
- During 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. seek shady areas as these can be the hottest times of the day.
